AutoCompactor
AutoCompactor is a software used for compaction of two-dimensional nests. It compacts markers generated by humans or automatic nesting software. AutoCompactor is particularly intended to replenish the nesting functionality of the SCAI software AutoNester by an improved compaction algorithm.

Compacting two-dimensional nests
AutoCompactor is a new product of Fraunhofer SCAI and is intended to replenish the nesting functionality of AutoNester by an improved compaction algorithm. It takes markers which are generated by humans or automatic nesting software and tries to compact these markers by reducing their length. AutoCompactor is capable of considering nearly the full range of constraints which are supported by AutoNester. AutoCompactor also can be enabled to slightly modify the structure of the piece layout to further improve the result.
Example
Compaction of a marker with AutoCompactor. Picture 1 shows the marker before the compaction, the result of the compaction is shown in picture 2. Here, AutoCompactor enhanced the utilization of material by 5 percent.

Software
AutoCompactor is a tool for compaction of two-dimensional nests. It will not generate the nests, they must be given as input to the software. AutoCompactor has the same Application Programming Interface (API) as the Fraunhofer SCAI software AutoNester.
AutoCompactor runs on the latest Windows operating systems.
